U.S. Model 1879 Trapdoor Carbine, by Springfield, #127149, .45-70 cal., 22'' barrel, blue and case hardened finish, walnut stock, steel buttplate, with cleaning rod and broken case extractor in butt. Condition is about very good. Barrel, lockplate, hammer and triggerguard retain approx. 85% toning blue. 1873 dated breechblock has toned gray. Stock with light scuffs, possible minor sanding, additional coat of linseed oil, and one small filled loss just above rear saddlering bar mount. Action is good, bore is fine. Est.: $1,500-$2,000.
